The Easter bunny came to visit while everybody was at church. The bunny was very sneaky. I didn't even hear him come in while I was sleeping ;). The kids had so much fun finding all the eggs. Connor kept saying "Easter is my favorite!" Here are some pictures of them finding their eggs.

Easter egg dying fun
We had a lot of fun dying Easter eggs today. I got the "no spill" kit. It worked pretty good, just a few drips here and there. I also got an egg spinner. The kids had lots of fun with that. I saw on Pinterest to color your eggs with sharpie markers. That was a lot of fun. Kiley sketched out what she wanted to do on her egg on a piece of paper first. She was really excited to draw it on her egg. She did a great job! Now the Easter bunny needs to come tomorrow to hide the eggs. We shall see.

Happy Temple Anniversary
Today Cordell and I have been sealed together in the House of The Lord for 13 years. It has been such a wonderful and beautiful blessing in our lives. I am so thankful for the missionaries and Patriarch Shumway. They came to our door shortly after Cordell and I got home from our honeymoon 15 years ago. They came looking for Cordell and found me also. I'm thankful that they were inspired so come seek us out and teach us the gospel. I am truly blessed because of their efforts. Because they listened to the spirit and let the spirit teach us and guide us, I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A year after being baptized, Cordell and I were sealed together for time and all eternity in the beautiful Logan Temple. Not only will we be together for our time on this earth, we will be together through the eternity. We will also have our children with us for all eternity because of the covenants we have made. I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is truly a gospel of love and family.
It's fun to have 2 anniversaries ;).

The first video is of Kiley. They had just learned that dance yesterday. She did pretty good. The last video is of all the kids coming out and bowing. I have a couple of other videos of Connor and Kiley dancing. Hopefully I can get them to upload sometime. For some reason they can't upload.

Well used blanket
Cordell's mom made us a lot of baby blankets when Isaac was born (by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC!!!!). One blanket in particular has seen a ton of action. It went from Isaac, to Kiley, and now to Connor. This has become Connor's Linus blanket. We threaten to trash it and he freaks out. It is slowly falling apart piece by piece. At least it has been well loved and used.
Here's me with Isaac holding Kiley in the blanket when she was a baby.
Here is Connor with his favorite blanket now.

Healthy breakfast cookies
I love Pinterest! I have found so many great recipes and other fun things on there. I found a recipe that only has a minimum of two ingredients. You can add other things to the recipe if you want. It is a quick healthy breakfast or snack. It is 2 bananas mashed up with a cup of quick oats. It says you can add chocolate chips or nuts or whatever else you would like. I knew all my kids would eat it if there were chocolate chips in it. So you just mash up the bananas, add the cup of quick oats and add in the chocolate chips. You bake them for 15 min at 350 degrees. I made them the other night and left a note for the kids to eat those cookies for breakfast. They LOVED them! They liked eating "cookies" for breakfast. I am definantly going to be buying more bananas to make those yummy and healthy cookies! Maybe next time I will add in some nuts.

Middle school, here we come!
Tonight we took Isaac and the kids to Mount Logan Middle School to get Isaac registered for 6th grade next year. Wow! I can't believe we have a soon to be middle schooler! Isaac has been pretty excited about it. He has decided that he wants to stop playing the bass in orchestra after this year and start playing the trumpet next year. He is pretty excited about that. We filled out some paperwork. They had the schedule of the classes they have to take in 6th grade. All we had to do was circle that he wants to take band and play the trumpet. I guess they will mail us his class schedule some time this summer. I have heard a lot of good things about MLMS. They have a 6th grade hallway that is only for them. That is where their lockers are and their core classes are. They said that is where they will spend most of their time. They have 2 cafeterias! They have tons of options for lunch. We took a tour of the school. Holy cow! It is humongous compared to the tiny school I went to. I didn't have to worry about changing schools or teachers for that fact, when I went from jr high to high school. Cordell said it is bigger that the old high school he went to in Green River. Before the tour they said it is one of the biggest middle schools in the state. They have about 1300 kids that go there. Anyway, the tour was pretty good. I for sure was overwhelmed by how big the school was. It is a great looking school. They have so much opportunity for the kids to learn and tons of resources. I am very impresses. Kiley was pretty excited about going middle school in a couple of years. They have a sewing lab, kitchen lab, and a washer and dryer so they can learn about how to take care of themselves. She was impressed with the sewing machines, it was pretty funny. On the tour we learned that Tyler Whitesides was a janitor at MLMS and that is where he got his inspiration for his book series "The Janitors". The teacher showed us where everything that took place in the book was at the school. The kids were pretty excited about that. On our way home I asked Isaac if he was still excited about going to middle school. He said he was but with a little nervousness when he said it. I asked him if he was pretty nervous about it and he said he was. I told him I was nervous too. I know he will do great. He is a pretty easy going kid and makes friends really easy. He will do fine. On the first day of school it is for 6th graders only. I thought that was great. They won't have to worry about the older kids there and will be able to navigate their way around before the school is packed with all 1300 kids! 5 more months to go until the big change.

Final game
Isaac's last Jr. Jazz game was today. Of course they only had 5 boys again, so they had to play with no rest. They did a great job as usual. Isaac played his most aggressive game of the season. He had quite a few rebounds, some steals, a couple of assists, and took a few shots. The kid he was guarding didn't like how good Isaac was guarding him. All of a sudden I saw Isaac sliding across the floor on his butt. He said the kid pushed his arm down and tripped Isaac up and that was when he went sliding across the floor. He said that was when he decided to play a lot more aggressive. He was so sore when he got home. He could hardly walk up the stairs to take a hot bath to relax his tired muscles. He improved so much over these last couple of months. There was one brain fart he had. He was thrown the ball and had an open shot. He forgot to dribble when he took a few steps to take the shot, so he got called for traveling. He laughed about it after they called him for it. I asked him about it and he said he just couldn't dribble the ball for some reason (like it was glued to his hand ;) ha, ha). At least he has a great attitude about the mistakes and successes he has. He has loved to learn how to become a better player. They did win their final game. The final score was 27-14. They ended their season 6 and 2. I say that is an awesome season when for the last 4 or 5 games they have only had 4 or 5 players for each game. That just shows you how hard these boys have worked this season. Congrats on a hard fought season Isaac!
