Moving on up

Guess who is moving up a level in Irish dance? That's right! Connor is! He will now be one level below Kiley now, that means one level away from hard shoe. He is very excited. Their instructor was talking about signing them up for Feis (competition). They are very excited to do that! We will have to check it out and see when they can do it. At least now they both have dance on the same day.

Digging for rocks!

Connor got to shop in his class store today and picked out a rock hunters kit. It had all sorts of cool rocks in it. It had a mystery cube that had three different rocks in it. He had tools to dig and to brush the dust away. He found obsidian, granite, and shale. He loved it! He had so much fun digging for the rocks.

Fun with Instagram!

I just discovered Instagram! I know! You're thinking, where the heck have you been? People have been using it for awhile! Well, I decided to try it, and it is so much fun! I have been playing around with it. Here are a couple of things I did with it. I hope you enjoy it!

More allergies :(

For the past day or so Connor has come inside from playing and his eyes have been a little swollen. He would just say he was tired. Tonight they looked even more swollen. I went to work and Cordell sent me a picture of Connor. His poor eyes are so swollen. It looks like when Kiley had her allergic reaction to some kittens. Cordell gave him some allergy meds. I asked him if Connor had played with our neighbor's cats and he said that Connor looked at them but didn't touch them. Poor kid! If he is allergic to cats too, he will be so sad. He loves cats. They are his favorite animal. Hopefully the swelling goes down before I get home in the morning or he is going to the ER and getting some steroids. Two kids with allergies. That sucks.

Reflections winner!!!!!!!!

Every year the PTA does a program called Reflections. It is a competition for students that can go from the local school level all the way to the national level. They have a different theme for every year. This year the theme was "The Magic of a Moment..." Each student could do a project that reflected that theme. The different categories they could choose from are dance choreography, film production, music production, literature, or visual arts. Each category have specific guidelines the student had to follow. Kiley chose the visual arts. She drew a picture of a family at Disneyland. She titled it "Creating a Memory at Disneyland. She did it a few months ago. Today she came home and said she won 1st place! She got a ribbon and a gift card to Coldstone Creamery! She is very creative. I'm glad her hard work paid off! Great job Kiley!

Taffy vs tooth

Kiley did it again! She was eating a piece of taffy and she came in laughing. She said that she did it again, she bit into the taffy and pulled out another loose tooth! Now she only has one molar left on the right bottom of her mouth. It is pretty funny! Taffy is the ticket for pulling out loose teeth ;)

President Uchtdorf's Amazing Talk

This last weekend was General Conference. I loved it! It has been a few years since I have been able to enjoy watching it. My work weeks have been landing on conference weekend so I have missed them. Now my weeks have worked themselves around to where I have conferences off. The speakers were all great! My favorite talk was given by President Uchtdorf. He is the second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His talk was titled "The Hope of God's Light". It was about having the hope of God when you have gone through some bad times. He talked of a little girl who was abused. In order to protect herself she learned to become numb and not feel anything. After she turned 18, she found the church and discovered that there is good in the world. The light of God was shown to here. She took that light and ran with it. She chose to show the light that was in her and not the darkness that she was raised with. From this talk we can learn that even if we feel there is no hope, light or goodness left in the world, God is there. He is the light of the world. All you have to do is open the door and let his light in. Light chases away the darkness. The light of God is in everybody. Every person in this world is a child of God, and therefore have the light of Christ in them. No matter what evils we have endured, hardships we have gone through, or tragedies that have come upon us, our Father in Heaven is there. I know it may not feel like he is there at the time, but believe me, He is there, you just don't realize it at the time. Go to www.lds.org to read his talk. All the talks were great. If you want to learn more and be uplifted, read more of the talks give at conference.

Enjoying General Conference
